  1945    
    Luis Troyas Osés founded "Talleres Azkoyen", in Peralta (Navarra/Spain).
  1956    
    First coin selector (model "A") manufactured by Azkoyen for the SURNE machine, which sold lighter fuel. It worked with 10-cent, 50-cent and 1-peseta coins.
  1959    
    The same selector (model "A" ) was incorporated to automatic sweet vending machines. The machines sold with a single price.
  1962    
    Successive models of coin selectors are built to cater to the new prices of products sold (tobacco, matches, sweets, soft packages).
  1968    
    The selector "C" allows change for 5- and 25-peseta coins.
  1975    
    Appearance of model "H" which selected 2-, 25-, 50- and 100-peseta coins.
  1978    
    Coin mechanisms allow sales at nine different prices, with or without coin return.
  1983    
    Incorporation of microprocessors to coin mechanisms, developed by Azkoyen Group, S.A. together with the Ikerlan technology research centre.
  1984    
    A key year for the history of Azkoyen. The Group incorporates electronics technology to selectors and payout hoppers. This is a landmark in the industrial and financial history of Spain.
  1985    
    The "L 60" electronic selector is patented. It is henceforth installed in all automatic vending machines manufactured by Azkoyen. This selector is capable of "reading and checking" nine different coin parameters in 3 thousandths of a second.
  1987    
    Incorporation of Azkoyen Industrial, S.A. (manufacturing activities) and Azkoyen Comercial, S.A. dedicated to sales and marketing. Both are 100% owned affiliates of the parent company.

All activities related to manufacture, research and technological development of selection, return and payment control mechanisms and systems are carried out by Azkoyen Industrial, S.A.

The new electronic coin selector series were also applied to public telephony and recreational machines.
  1998    
    Incorporation of Azkoyen Medios de Pago, S.A. by dividing Azkoyen Industrial, S.A. Its activities focus on the manufacture and technological development of selection, return and payment control mechanisms and systems to be used mainly in automatic vending machines, recreational machines and public telephony.
  2001    
    Restructuring of the companies within Azkoyen Group, S.A. into only three business units, which are independent with respect to assets, finance and management.

Azkoyen Medios de Pago, S.A. takes charge of both the manufacture and development of al, its products, as well as sales.
